Jamie is a recognised biopharma speciality medicines expert within healthcare government affairs and policy, market access pathways, patient engagement and communications.

He has been at the forefront of ensuring patient access to innovation for over 20 years, assisting numerous high-profile corporations on landscape analysis and influence, commercialisation of innovative therapies, stakeholder engagement, reimbursement strategy and communications management.

Originally a journalist and media relations advisor to MPs and Ministers, Jamie established a dedicated healthcare policy and public affairs consultancy in 2006 advising industry, patient groups and medical professional bodies on how to engage and influence the policy environment. Notable projects and clients included Alexion, Bayer, CSL Behring and Genetic Alliance UK.

He was Head of Government Affairs for Vertex Pharmaceuticals (Northern Europe) from 2016 and the Director of International Patient Engagement for Vertex on their joint venture with CRISPR Therapeutics from 2019-21.

More recently, he has been supporting leading biotechs to establish patient engagement strategies and structure for effective pan-European advocacy, advising clients on healthcare policy and working with the NHS to improve systems for improved diagnosis of rare conditions.  

He has academic and professional qualifications from Liverpool John Moores University, Oxford University and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
